Description

Air Fryer Chicken Crispanada is a crispy, golden, and flavorful chicken-filled taco pocket inspired by Taco Bell’s famous Crispanada. Made healthier with air frying, this copycat recipe offers a crunchy exterior with a tender, seasoned chicken filling perfect for a quick snack or meal.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup diced green chilies
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 flour tortillas (6-inch size)
  • Cooking spray or oil for brushing

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix shredded chicken, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, green chilies, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  2. Place a tortilla on a flat surface and spoon about 1/4 cup of the chicken mixture onto the center.
  3. Fold the tortilla over to form a half-moon shape and press edges firmly to seal (use a fork to crimp edges).
  4. Lightly spray or brush both sides with cooking oil.
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Place the folded tortillas in the air fryer basket in a single layer (cook in batches if needed).
  7. Air fry for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
  8. Serve hot with salsa, sour cream, or guacamole.

Notes

  • Do not overfill the tortillas to avoid bursting during cooking.
  • Use fresh cooked chicken or leftover rotisserie chicken for convenience.
