Air Fryer Chicken Crispanada is a crispy, golden, and flavorful chicken-filled taco pocket inspired by Taco Bell’s famous Crispanada. Made healthier with air frying, this copycat recipe offers a crunchy exterior with a tender, seasoned chicken filling perfect for a quick snack or meal.

- 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
- 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup diced green chilies
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 8 flour tortillas (6-inch size)
- Cooking spray or oil for brushing
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix shredded chicken, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, green chilies, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Place a tortilla on a flat surface and spoon about 1/4 cup of the chicken mixture onto the center.
- Fold the tortilla over to form a half-moon shape and press edges firmly to seal (use a fork to crimp edges).
- Lightly spray or brush both sides with cooking oil.
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Place the folded tortillas in the air fryer basket in a single layer (cook in batches if needed).
- Air fry for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
- Serve hot with salsa, sour cream, or guacamole.
Notes
- Do not overfill the tortillas to avoid bursting during cooking.
- Use fresh cooked chicken or leftover rotisserie chicken for convenience.
- Adjust spices to taste for more or less heat.
