Description

Brioche Brunch Strata is a rich, savory baked casserole made with buttery brioche bread, eggs, cheese, and your favorite mix-ins like vegetables or cooked sausage. It’s perfect for a make-ahead brunch or holiday breakfast.

  • 6 cups brioche bread, cubed
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup cooked and crumbled breakfast sausage (optional)
  • 1/2 cup diced bell pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onion
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter, for greasing the baking dish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter.
  2. Spread brioche cubes evenly in the baking dish. Sprinkle with shredded cheese, sausage (if using), bell pepper, and green onion.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, cream, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  4. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread and toppings. Gently press the bread down to soak in the liquid.
  5. Let the strata sit for at least 15 minutes, or cover and refrigerate overnight for best results.
  6. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden and the center is set.
  7. Cool slightly before slicing and serving.
