Description

These Candied Almonds are the perfect combination of sweet, crunchy, and aromatic. Coated in a cinnamon-sugar glaze and roasted to perfection, they’re a classic treat for holidays, parties, or everyday snacking. Quick to make and hard to resist!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups whole raw almonds
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large skillet or saucepan, combine sugar, water, cinnamon, and salt over medium heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Add almonds and cook, stirring often, until the liquid reduces and begins to crystallize, about 8–10 minutes.
  4. Continue stirring until the sugar coats the almonds and becomes dry and sandy in texture.
  5. Spread the almonds in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 10–12 minutes, stirring halfway through, until the almonds are crisp and golden. Watch carefully to avoid burning.
  7. Remove from the oven and let cool completely before storing or serving.

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
  • Great for gifting in jars or bags during the holidays.
  • Substitute almonds with pecans or cashews if desired.
  • Add a pinch of cayenne for a spicy twist.
