- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2–3 tbsp milk
- 1/4 tsp peppermint extract

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a donut pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.

- Combine wet and dry ingredients; mix until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips if using.
- Fill each donut cavity 3/4 full and bake for 10–12 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let donuts cool in pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- To make glaze: whisk powdered sugar, milk, and peppermint extract until smooth.
- Dip cooled donuts in glaze and sprinkle with crushed candy canes. Let set before serving.
Notes
- Use dark chocolate cocoa for a richer flavor.
- Adjust peppermint extract to taste—too much can be overpowering.
- Donuts can be made a day ahead and stored in an airtight container.
- For a dairy-free version, use almond milk and dairy-free chocolate.
