Description

These Copycat Magnolia Bakery Vanilla Cupcakes are light, fluffy, and packed with classic vanilla flavor. Topped with a creamy buttercream frosting, they’re just like the iconic cupcakes from the famous New York bakery.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups powdered sugar (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Alternately add dry ingredients and milk to the batter, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
  5. Divide batter evenly among the cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full.
  6. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool completely on a wire rack.
  7. For the frosting, beat butter until creamy, then gradually add powdered sugar. Mix in milk and vanilla until smooth and fluffy.
