- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup light corn syrup
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp cotton candy flavoring (or to taste)
- Optional: pink and blue gel food coloring
Instructions
- Place popped popcorn in a large mixing bowl and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar, corn syrup, butter, and salt. Stir constantly until mixture comes to a boil.
- Boil for 2–3 minutes, then remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and cotton candy flavoring.
- If using food coloring, divide the syrup into two bowls and add a drop of pink to one and blue to the other.
- Quickly drizzle the syrup over different sections of the popcorn and stir to coat evenly.
- Spread coated popcorn on the prepared baking sheet and let cool completely to set.
- Once hardened, break apart and serve or store in an airtight container.
