- 1 loaf French bread, halved lengthwise
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1/2 cup chopped bell pepper
- 1/2 cup chopped celery
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 lb crawfish tails (peeled and cooked)
- 1/2 tsp Cajun seasoning
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 green onions, sliced
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper.
- In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Sauté onion, bell pepper, celery, and garlic until soft, about 5 minutes.
- Add crawfish tails, Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook for 3–4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Lower heat and stir in cream cheese until melted and creamy.
- Remove from heat and fold in cheddar, mozzarella, and green onions.
- Spoon the crawfish mixture evenly over the cut sides of the bread.
- Place the stuffed bread on the baking sheet and bake for 12–15 minutes, or until cheese is bubbly and lightly browned.
- Slice and garnish with chopped parsley if desired. Serve warm.
Notes
- You can substitute shrimp or crab if crawfish isn’t available.
- Great for game day, potlucks, or as a Mardi Gras treat.
- Add hot sauce for extra heat if desired.
