Creamed Corn is a rich and comforting side dish made with sweet corn kernels simmered in a creamy, buttery sauce. It’s the perfect addition to holiday dinners, barbecues, or any meal where you want something warm, hearty, and satisfying.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups fresh or frozen corn kernels
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • Optional: 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese or a pinch of nutmeg for extra flavor

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet or saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
  2. Stir in the flour and cook for about 1 minute to form a roux.
  3. Slowly whisk in the milk and cream until smooth and slightly thickened.
  4. Add the corn, sugar, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
  5. Simmer uncovered for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture is thick and creamy.
  6. Optional: Stir in Parmesan cheese or a pinch of nutmeg for added depth of flavor.
