Description

Dill Pickle Cheese Balls are a tangy, creamy, and savory appetizer that combines cream cheese, cheddar, chopped dill pickles, and herbs into the perfect party bite. Rolled in a crunchy coating, these mini cheese balls are full of flavor and great for dipping or snacking!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped dill pickles
  • 2 tablespoons pickle juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped (or 1 tsp dried dill)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions (optional)
  • 1/2 cup crushed pretzels or chopped nuts (for coating)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, shredded cheddar, chopped pickles, pickle juice, dill, garlic powder, black pepper, and green onions if using. Mix until well combined and smooth.
  2. Cover and refrigerate the mixture for 30 minutes to firm up.
  3. Using your hands or a small scoop, shape the mixture into small balls (about 1 inch in diameter).
  4. Roll each ball in crushed pretzels or nuts to coat completely.
  5. Chill again for at least 15 minutes before serving for best texture and flavor.
  6. Serve with crackers, pretzel sticks, or fresh veggie slices.

Notes

  • Mini cheese balls can be made a day ahead—just store covered in the fridge.
  • Swap cheddar with pepper jack or smoked gouda for a fun twist.
  • Use toothpicks for easy serving at parties or game day gatherings.
