Description
Garlic Lemon Butter Shrimp is a quick and elegant dish featuring tender shrimp sautéed in a rich garlic butter sauce with a splash of fresh lemon juice — perfect over pasta, rice, or on its own.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
- Pat the shrimp dry and season with salt and pepper.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil and 1 tbsp butter over medium-high heat.
- Add shrimp and cook for 1–2 minutes per side, until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt the remaining butter and sauté garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Stir in lemon juice, zest, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 1 minute.
- Return shrimp to the skillet, toss to coat in the sauce, and cook for another minute.
- Sprinkle with parsley and serve immediately.
Notes
- Serve over linguine, rice, or with crusty bread to soak up the sauce.
- Use fresh lemon juice for the best flavor.
- Don’t overcook the shrimp — they should be just pink and tender.
