- 1 1/2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 tablespoons lemon juice
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
- 1 tablespoon plain Greek yogurt
- 2 teaspoons dried oregano
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 4–6 pita breads
- Sliced tomatoes, red onions, cucumbers (for serving)
Tzatziki Sauce:
- 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1/2 cucumber, grated and squeezed dry
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill or mint
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, red wine vinegar, yogurt, oregano, salt, and pepper. Add chicken and marinate for at least 1 hour or overnight.
- Grill or pan-cook the chicken over medium-high heat for 5–6 minutes per side, or until fully cooked and golden. Let rest, then slice.
- For the tzatziki, mix Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, dill or mint, and salt in a bowl. Chill until ready to use.
- Warm pita breads and fill with sliced chicken, tzatziki sauce, and desired toppings like tomato, onion, and cucumber.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
