Description
Spicy, flavorful grilled Cajun shrimp skewers with a smoky char from the grill. These shrimp are marinated in a zesty Cajun seasoning mix and grilled to perfection, making them perfect for summer BBQs or a quick weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- Wooden or metal skewers
Instructions
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes before grilling to prevent burning.
- In a large bowl, combine olive oil, Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, smoked paprika, onion powder, salt, pepper, and lemon juice. Stir to create the marinade.
- Add the shrimp to the bowl and toss until they are evenly coated with the seasoning mixture. Let the shrimp marinate for 15–20 minutes.
- Thread the marinated shrimp onto the skewers, leaving a small gap between each shrimp.
- Place the shrimp skewers on the preheated grill and cook for 2–3 minutes per side, or until the shrimp are pink and opaque.
- Remove the skewers from the grill and serve immediately with your favorite sides, like rice, grilled vegetables, or a fresh salad.
Notes
- If you prefer a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the marinade.
- These skewers can be served with a side of garlic butter or a tangy dipping sauce for extra flavor.
- For a more smoky flavor, grill the shrimp over indirect heat, or add wood chips to the grill for a smoky effect.
