Description

Spicy, flavorful grilled Cajun shrimp skewers with a smoky char from the grill. These shrimp are marinated in a zesty Cajun seasoning mix and grilled to perfection, making them perfect for summer BBQs or a quick weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Wooden or metal skewers

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes before grilling to prevent burning.
  2. In a large bowl, combine olive oil, Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, smoked paprika, onion powder, salt, pepper, and lemon juice. Stir to create the marinade.
  3. Add the shrimp to the bowl and toss until they are evenly coated with the seasoning mixture. Let the shrimp marinate for 15–20 minutes.
  4. Thread the marinated shrimp onto the skewers, leaving a small gap between each shrimp.
  5. Place the shrimp skewers on the preheated grill and cook for 2–3 minutes per side, or until the shrimp are pink and opaque.
  6. Remove the skewers from the grill and serve immediately with your favorite sides, like rice, grilled vegetables, or a fresh salad.

Notes

  • If you prefer a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the marinade.
  • These skewers can be served with a side of garlic butter or a tangy dipping sauce for extra flavor.
  • For a more smoky flavor, grill the shrimp over indirect heat, or add wood chips to the grill for a smoky effect.
