Description
Hamburger Steaks in Creamy Dill Sauce is a savory comfort food dish featuring tender beef patties smothered in a rich and creamy dill-infused sauce. It’s perfect for a hearty meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef (85% lean)
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- For the Sauce:
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup beef broth
- 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped (or 1 tablespoon dried dill)
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, chopped onion, egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined, then form into 4 patties.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 4–5 minutes per side, or until browned and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add the beef broth, stirring to deglaze the pan.
- Pour in the heavy cream, Dijon mustard, and chopped dill. Stir until the sauce is smooth and simmer for 3–4 minutes until slightly thickened. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Return the patties to the skillet and spoon the sauce over them. Let the patties simmer in the sauce for another 2–3 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- Serve the hamburger steaks with the creamy dill sauce spooned over the top. Enjoy!
Notes
- Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or a simple green salad for a complete meal.
- For a lighter version, you can use lean ground turkey or chicken instead of beef.
- You can also add mushrooms to the sauce for extra depth of flavor.
