Description

Homemade Salmon Fish Fingers are crispy, flavorful, and healthy finger-sized pieces of salmon coated with a crunchy breadcrumb crust. Perfect for a kid-friendly meal or a tasty appetizer, they’re easy to bake or fry at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 500g fresh salmon fillet, skin removed and cut into finger-sized strips
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 1/2 cups panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil or cooking spray for baking

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Set up three shallow bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with panko breadcrumbs mixed with lemon zest, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Coat each salmon finger first in flour, shaking off excess, then dip into the beaten eggs, and finally coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
  4. Place the coated salmon fingers on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Lightly spray or drizzle olive oil over the fingers for extra crispiness.
  6. Bake for 12–15 minutes, turning halfway through, until golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Serve warm with tartar sauce or lemon wedges.

Notes

  • Use fresh salmon for best flavor and texture.
  • For a gluten-free option, substitute all-purpose flour and breadcrumbs with gluten-free alternatives.
  • These can also be pan-fried in a little oil for a crispier finish.
