- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup Bisquick baking mix
- 1 cup milk
- 2 eggs
- Optional toppings: ketchup, mustard, pickles, chopped tomatoes
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a 9-inch pie plate.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and chopped onion until beef is browned and onion is soft. Drain excess fat.
- Season with salt and pepper, then spread the mixture evenly in the prepared pie plate.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the beef layer.
- In a bowl, whisk together Bisquick mix, milk, and eggs until smooth.
- Pour the batter over the beef and cheese in the pie plate.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is golden brown.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve with your favorite burger toppings if desired.
