Ingredients

- 2 cups water
- 1-inch piece of fresh ginger, sliced
- 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice (about 1/2 lemon)
- 1–2 tsp honey (optional, to taste)
- 1 lemon slice for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Bring water to a boil in a small saucepan.
- Add the sliced ginger and simmer for 5-7 minutes to infuse.
- Remove from heat and strain into a mug.
- Stir in the fresh lemon juice and honey if using.
- Garnish with a lemon slice and serve warm.
Notes
- For a stronger flavor, simmer the ginger for up to 10 minutes.
- Can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days, then reheated.
