Description
Milk Pudding with Longan is a light, silky-smooth dessert made from sweetened milk and gelatin, topped with juicy longan fruit. It’s incredibly refreshing, especially served chilled on a hot day.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups whole milk (or any milk of choice)
- 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 tablespoon unflavored gelatin (or agar-agar for vegetarian option)
- 1/4 cup hot water (to dissolve gelatin)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- 1 can (15 oz) longan in syrup, drained (reserve syrup for serving)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, dissolve gelatin in hot water. Stir well and set aside to bloom for a few minutes.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine milk and sweetened condensed milk. Stir until warm but do not boil.
- Add the dissolved gelatin mixture to the warm milk. Stir until fully combined and gelatin is completely melted.
- Remove from heat and add vanilla extract if using.
- Pour the mixture into serving cups or molds. Let cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until set.
- Top each pudding with a few longan fruits and a spoonful of the reserved syrup before serving.
Notes
- Use agar-agar powder instead of gelatin for a vegetarian version (adjust quantity per instructions).
- Chill the longan and syrup for extra refreshment before topping the pudding.
- Can be made a day ahead – just keep covered in the fridge until serving.
