Description
Old-Fashioned Fudge is a rich, creamy, and indulgent chocolate treat made with just a few simple ingredients. Perfect for holidays, gifting, or satisfying a sweet craving any time.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 cups granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter
- 2/3 cup evaporated milk
- 12 oz semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 jar (7 oz) marshmallow creme
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Line a 9×13-inch baking dish with foil and lightly grease it. Set aside.
- In a heavy saucepan, combine sugar, butter, and evaporated milk over medium heat. Bring to a rolling boil, stirring constantly.
- Boil for 4-5 minutes, continuing to stir to prevent burning. Remove from heat.
- Stir in chocolate chips until melted and smooth. Add marshmallow creme and vanilla extract, mixing until fully combined.
- Fold in nuts if using.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Let cool at room temperature until firm, about 3-4 hours, or refrigerate for quicker setting.
- Cut into small squares and serve.
Notes
- Use a candy thermometer to ensure the mixture reaches the soft-ball stage (234-240°F) for perfect texture.
- You can swap chocolate chips for white chocolate or peanut butter chips for variations.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks or freeze for up to 2 months.
