Description

Old-Fashioned Fudge is a rich, creamy, and indulgent chocolate treat made with just a few simple ingredients. Perfect for holidays, gifting, or satisfying a sweet craving any time.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 2/3 cup evaporated milk
  • 12 oz semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 jar (7 oz) marshmallow creme
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Line a 9×13-inch baking dish with foil and lightly grease it. Set aside.
  2. In a heavy saucepan, combine sugar, butter, and evaporated milk over medium heat. Bring to a rolling boil, stirring constantly.
  3. Boil for 4-5 minutes, continuing to stir to prevent burning. Remove from heat.
  4. Stir in chocolate chips until melted and smooth. Add marshmallow creme and vanilla extract, mixing until fully combined.
  5. Fold in nuts if using.
  6. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top with a spatula.
  7. Let cool at room temperature until firm, about 3-4 hours, or refrigerate for quicker setting.
  8. Cut into small squares and serve.

Notes

  • Use a candy thermometer to ensure the mixture reaches the soft-ball stage (234-240°F) for perfect texture.
  • You can swap chocolate chips for white chocolate or peanut butter chips for variations.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks or freeze for up to 2 months.
