Description
Peach Iced Tea is a refreshing and naturally sweetened drink made with fresh peaches and brewed black tea. Perfect for hot days, it’s fruity, flavorful, and easy to make at home.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 ripe peaches, pitted and sliced
- 1/2 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
- 6 cups water, divided
- 4 black tea bags
- 1 tbsp lemon juice (optional)
- Ice cubes, for serving
- Fresh mint leaves, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine sliced peaches, sugar, and 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10–15 minutes, until peaches are soft and syrupy.
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Strain through a fine mesh sieve, pressing to extract juice. Discard solids.
- Meanwhile, boil 4 cups of water. Add tea bags and steep for 5–7 minutes. Remove tea bags and let the tea cool.
- In a pitcher, combine the peach syrup, brewed tea, and lemon juice (if using). Stir well.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
- Serve over ice and garnish with fresh peach slices or mint if desired.
Notes
- For a stronger peach flavor, blend the syrup with some peach pulp before straining.
- Use green tea instead of black tea for a lighter version.
- Can be sweetened with honey or maple syrup instead of sugar.
