Description

This rich and flavorful Honey BBQ Steak Pasta is a one-pot wonder that brings together tender strips of steak, a smoky-sweet honey BBQ sauce, and creamy pasta all cooked in a single pan. It’s a comforting, bold-flavored dinner perfect for busy weeknights or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450g) sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 1/2 cups milk or heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup honey BBQ sauce
  • 8 oz (225g) penne or rotini pasta (uncooked)
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot or deep skillet over medium-high heat. Add steak slices and cook until browned. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same pot, add diced onion and cook for 3–4 minutes until soft. Stir in garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  3. Add beef broth, milk (or cream), honey BBQ sauce, uncooked pasta, smoked paprika, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
  4. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer. Cover and cook for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender and sauce is slightly thickened.
  5. Return the cooked steak to the pot and stir in shredded cheddar cheese until melted and creamy.
  6. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot straight from the pot.

Notes

  • For extra richness, add a tablespoon of butter when adding the steak back in.
  • Adjust the BBQ sauce amount for more or less sweetness.
  • Use a good-quality steak for best flavor and texture.
  • This dish reheats well, making it great for leftovers.
