Description
Savory Cajun Chicken over Creamy Parmesan Linguine is a rich and flavorful dish featuring perfectly seasoned Cajun chicken served on a bed of creamy, garlicky Parmesan linguine. It’s a satisfying and indulgent meal for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 8 oz linguine pasta
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Optional: crushed red pepper flakes for extra heat
Instructions
- Start by seasoning both sides of the chicken breasts with Cajun seasoning.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 6–7 minutes per side, or until fully cooked and golden brown on the outside. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside to rest for 5 minutes, then slice it into thin strips.
- Meanwhile, cook the linguine according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water.
- In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and cook for 2–3 minutes, until the sauce thickens. If the sauce is too thick, add the reserved pasta water a little at a time until it reaches the desired consistency.
- Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste, and add a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes if you want extra heat.
- Add the cooked linguine to the skillet and toss to coat the pasta in the creamy Parmesan sauce.
- Serve the pasta with sliced Cajun chicken on top and garnish with fresh chopped parsley.
- Enjoy!
Notes
- If you prefer spicier chicken, feel free to add more Cajun seasoning or a dash of hot sauce when cooking the chicken.
- You can use any pasta shape for this dish, but linguine is ideal for the creamy sauce.
- For a lighter version, you can substitute half-and-half for heavy cream and reduce the Parmesan cheese.
