Description

This Seafood Boil Recipe is a classic Southern feast packed with shrimp, crab, clams, sausage, corn, and potatoes all cooked together with flavorful spices. Perfect for large gatherings and backyard parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb small red potatoes
  • 4 ears corn, cut into thirds
  • 14 cups water
  • 1/4 cup Old Bay seasoning (or seafood seasoning)
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 lb large shrimp, deveined and shell-on
  • 1 lb crab legs (optional)
  • 1 lb clams or mussels, cleaned
  • 1 lemon, quartered
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. Fill a large stockpot with water, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and lemon wedges. Bring to a rolling boil.
  2. Add the potatoes and cook for 10-12 minutes until just tender.
  3. Add the corn and sausage; cook for another 5-7 minutes.
  4. Stir in the crab legs and clams (if using) and cook for 5 minutes until the clams open.
  5. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes until pink and opaque.
  6. Drain the seafood and vegetables, discarding the lemon wedges and any unopened clams.
  7. Transfer everything to a large serving platter or spread out on a newspaper-covered table.
  8. Drizzle with melted butter and sprinkle with fresh parsley. Serve with extra lemon wedges.

Notes

  • You can customize with your favorite shellfish such as lobster tails or scallops.
  • Adjust the amount of seasoning based on your spice preference.
  • Serve with crusty bread or garlic butter for dipping.
