Description

A rich and indulgent seafood lasagna layered with tender pasta, a creamy white sauce, and a medley of fresh seafood for a comforting and elegant meal.


Ingredients

  • 9 lasagna noodles, cooked and drained
  • 1 lb mixed seafood (shrimp, scallops, crab meat, or lobster), chopped
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 4 cups milk
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté onion and garlic until translucent.
  3. Add seafood to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes until just opaque. Remove from heat and set aside.
  4. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook for 1-2 minutes to form a roux.
  5. Gradually whisk in milk, cooking and stirring until sauce thickens.
  6. Add Parmesan cheese, nutmeg, salt, and pepper to the sauce. Stir until cheese melts and sauce is smooth.
  7. Layer a baking dish with a thin layer of white sauce, then noodles, seafood, more sauce, and a sprinkle of mozzarella. Repeat layers, finishing with a top layer of noodles and sauce.
  8. Sprinkle remaining mozzarella cheese on top.
  9. Bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden brown on top.
  10. Remove from oven and let rest for 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • Use fresh or frozen seafood, thawed if frozen.
  • For extra flavor, add a splash of white wine to the seafood while cooking.
  • Swap mozzarella with fontina or provolone for different cheese profiles.
  • Serve with a crisp green salad or garlic bread.
