- 9 lasagna noodles, cooked and drained
- 1 lb mixed seafood (shrimp, scallops, crab meat, or lobster), chopped
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 4 cups milk
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté onion and garlic until translucent.
- Add seafood to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes until just opaque. Remove from heat and set aside.
- In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook for 1-2 minutes to form a roux.
- Gradually whisk in milk, cooking and stirring until sauce thickens.
- Add Parmesan cheese, nutmeg, salt, and pepper to the sauce. Stir until cheese melts and sauce is smooth.
- Layer a baking dish with a thin layer of white sauce, then noodles, seafood, more sauce, and a sprinkle of mozzarella. Repeat layers, finishing with a top layer of noodles and sauce.
- Sprinkle remaining mozzarella cheese on top.
- Bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden brown on top.
- Remove from oven and let rest for 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley.
Notes
- Use fresh or frozen seafood, thawed if frozen.
- For extra flavor, add a splash of white wine to the seafood while cooking.
- Swap mozzarella with fontina or provolone for different cheese profiles.
- Serve with a crisp green salad or garlic bread.
