Description

Shrimp Alfredo Bread Bowls are a decadent, restaurant-style meal made right at home. Creamy, garlicky Alfredo sauce is tossed with tender shrimp and spooned into crispy hollowed-out bread bowls, making every bite rich, cheesy, and comforting. Perfect for impressing guests or treating yourself on a cozy night in.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 small round bread loaves (sourdough or Italian rolls work well)
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1½ cups heavy cream
  • ¾ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley (for garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the tops off the bread loaves and hollow out the centers to create bowls. Place them on a baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes until slightly crisp.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil. Add shrimp and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.
  5. Simmer sauce for 4–5 minutes, stirring frequently, until thickened slightly.
  6. Add the cooked shrimp back to the skillet and toss to coat in the Alfredo sauce.
  7. Spoon the creamy shrimp mixture into the toasted bread bowls.
  8. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use pre-cooked shrimp to save time—just warm it in the sauce.
  • You can also add sautéed spinach or mushrooms for a veggie boost.
  • For a lighter version, use half-and-half instead of heavy cream and reduce the cheese.
