Perfect for impressing guests or treating yourself on a cozy night in.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 small round bread loaves (sourdough or Italian rolls work well)
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1½ cups heavy cream
- ¾ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tablespoon chopped parsley (for garnish)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the tops off the bread loaves and hollow out the centers to create bowls. Place them on a baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes until slightly crisp.
- In a skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil. Add shrimp and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.
- Simmer sauce for 4–5 minutes, stirring frequently, until thickened slightly.
- Add the cooked shrimp back to the skillet and toss to coat in the Alfredo sauce.
- Spoon the creamy shrimp mixture into the toasted bread bowls.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.
Notes
- Use pre-cooked shrimp to save time—just warm it in the sauce.
- You can also add sautéed spinach or mushrooms for a veggie boost.
- For a lighter version, use half-and-half instead of heavy cream and reduce the cheese.
