Description

Sweet and Savory Honey-Glazed Brussels Sprouts are roasted until crispy and caramelized, then tossed in a buttery honey glaze with a hint of balsamic vinegar. This side dish is a perfect balance of flavors that will convert even Brussels sprouts skeptics.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs (680g) Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • Optional: 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes for heat

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, toss halved Brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  3. Spread them cut-side down on the baking sheet. Roast for 20–25 minutes or until crispy and browned on the edges.
  4. While Brussels sprouts are roasting, melt butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir in honey and balsamic vinegar. Add red pepper flakes if using.
  5. When Brussels sprouts are done, transfer to a large bowl and toss with the honey-balsamic glaze.
  6. Serve warm as a side dish.

Notes

  • For extra crunch, sprinkle with toasted chopped pecans or walnuts before serving.
  • Add a sprinkle of crumbled goat cheese or feta for creaminess.
