Description

Sweet Restaurant Slaw is a classic creamy coleslaw with a perfect balance of sweetness and tanginess, featuring finely shredded cabbage and carrots tossed in a smooth, flavorful dressing. It’s a refreshing and crunchy side that’s great for barbecues, sandwiches, or as a standalone salad.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups finely shredded green cabbage
  • 1 cup finely shredded carrots
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded cabbage and carrots.
  2. In a separate small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  3. Pour the dressing over the cabbage mixture and toss well to coat evenly.
  4. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to let the flavors meld.
  5. Give the slaw a good toss before serving and adjust seasoning if needed.

Notes

  • For extra crunch, add sliced celery or chopped bell peppers.
  • Use Greek yogurt instead of mayonnaise for a lighter, tangier version.
  • Slaw tastes best if made a few hours or a day in advance to develop flavor.
