Description

Za’atar Fire Crackers are a bold, spicy, and savory snack made by tossing saltine crackers in a flavorful blend of za’atar, chili flakes, and oil, then baking until crisp — perfect for parties or as a zesty accompaniment to dips.


Ingredients

  • 1 (16 oz) box saltine crackers
  • 3/4 cup canola or olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons za’atar spice blend
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 250°F (120°C).
  2. In a large bowl or zip-top bag, combine oil, za’atar, red pepper flakes, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt.
  3. Add crackers and gently toss until evenly coated with the spice mixture.
  4. Spread the crackers in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Bake for 15–20 minutes, stirring halfway through, until crisp and lightly golden.
  6. Let cool completely before serving or storing in an airtight container.
